Care shaped around your priorities.
Home physiotherapy can be a practical option when travelling to a clinic is difficult. We listen to the person receiving care and focus on the activities that matter to them, with sessions adapted to their abilities and health history.
Who is physiotherapy for older adults for?
- Older adults whose strength or mobility has changed.
- People rebuilding everyday movement after illness or a period of inactivity.
- Families seeking physiotherapy that fits a relative’s abilities, routine and support needs.
How physiotherapy can help
- Understand difficulties with movement, strength and everyday activities.
- Agree realistic goals and suitable exercises at an individual pace.
- Involve a family member or carer in the plan, with the person’s agreement.
What happens during a visit?
We discuss your health, what you can currently manage and what you would like help with. The assessment is adapted to you rather than following a fixed exercise routine. We explain the proposed care and any practical advice, then agree what happens next.
Your physiotherapist will explain if another service or further assessment would be more appropriate.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about mobility, communication and access needs so the visit can be planned around the person.
- Have usual mobility aids and relevant care advice ready; discuss whether a familiar person should attend.
Paying for your home visit
- Self-pay
- Our standard home visit is £160 for 60 minutes. Check the visit details and payment policy before confirming.
- Health cash plans
- You pay for the visit and receive a paid itemised invoice. Check your plan’s home-visit cover, limits and claim requirements before booking.
- Private medical insurance
- Confirm that your insurer authorises home physiotherapy with the clinician providing your care. Recognition for clinic treatment does not automatically cover a home visit. Your policy may include an excess or shortfall.
Questions about this care
Can I arrange a visit for a parent or relative?
Yes. The person receiving treatment needs to agree to the visit. Tell us about their needs and whether you or a carer will be present.
Does the person need to be able to stand or walk?
Please explain their current abilities when you contact us. We can discuss whether a home physiotherapy assessment is appropriate and what support may be needed.
Does this include personal care?
No. This is a physiotherapy appointment, not a personal-care or emergency service. We discuss the person’s needs before arranging a suitable visit.
