Focus on the movements that matter.
If walking, getting up or moving around has become more difficult, a home appointment gives us a useful picture of everyday life. We start with your abilities, your concerns and the activities you would like to manage more confidently.
Who is home mobility and balance care for?
- Adults who find walking, standing up or moving around the home difficult.
- People who want to work on strength and balance for everyday tasks.
- People using a walking aid who would like their movement assessed in familiar surroundings.
How physiotherapy can help
- Assess your movement, strength and balance in relation to daily tasks.
- Practise appropriate activities in the spaces where you use them.
- Agree manageable exercises and review progress towards your personal goals.
What happens during a visit?
We talk about what has changed, your health history and any walking aids or support you use. Your assessment may include everyday movements such as standing up and walking, where appropriate. Together, we agree the priorities and explain the next steps.
Your physiotherapist will explain if another service or further assessment would be more appropriate.
Before we arrive
- Keep your usual walking aid and everyday footwear available.
- Tell us which activities or parts of your home are difficult, and whether a relative or carer will join with your agreement.
Paying for your home visit
- Self-pay
- Our standard home visit is £160 for 60 minutes. Check the visit details and payment policy before confirming.
- Health cash plans
- You pay for the visit and receive a paid itemised invoice. Check your plan’s home-visit cover, limits and claim requirements before booking.
- Private medical insurance
- Confirm that your insurer authorises home physiotherapy with the clinician providing your care. Recognition for clinic treatment does not automatically cover a home visit. Your policy may include an excess or shortfall.
