When pain interrupts everyday life.
Whether you are struggling with a joint, a muscle problem or returning to activity after an injury, we start with what you want to get back to. A home visit lets us understand your difficulties in the setting where you experience them.
Who is home pain and injury care for?
- People with muscle or joint pain that makes ordinary movement difficult.
- People recovering from an injury who want to work on daily activities or exercise.
- People who find a home appointment more practical than travelling to a clinic.
How physiotherapy can help
- Understand your symptoms, movement and the activities you find difficult.
- Agree practical goals, from managing everyday tasks to returning to exercise.
- Begin appropriate treatment and exercises, with advice you can use between visits.
What happens during a visit?
We discuss how the problem began, your health history and any care you have already received. Your physiotherapist assesses your movement and explains the findings, the proposed treatment and what to do next. There is time to ask questions before agreeing a plan.
Your physiotherapist will explain if another service or further assessment would be more appropriate.
Before we arrive
- Wear comfortable clothing that lets us assess the affected area and your movement.
- Have any relevant scan reports, treatment advice or exercises available; you do not need to diagnose the problem yourself.
Paying for your home visit
- Self-pay
- Our standard home visit is £160 for 60 minutes. Check the visit details and payment policy before confirming.
- Health cash plans
- You pay for the visit and receive a paid itemised invoice. Check your plan’s home-visit cover, limits and claim requirements before booking.
- Private medical insurance
- Confirm that your insurer authorises home physiotherapy with the clinician providing your care. Recognition for clinic treatment does not automatically cover a home visit. Your policy may include an excess or shortfall.
Questions about this care
Do I need to know what is causing the pain?
No. Explain what you are feeling and what has become difficult. The appointment starts with an assessment; you do not need to choose a diagnosis yourself.
Will I receive treatment at the first visit?
Treatment can begin during the first visit where appropriate. We first assess your needs and explain the options, including whether further assessment or a different service would be more suitable.
Can we work towards returning to sport?
Tell us about the sport or activity you want to return to. We can discuss whether home physiotherapy is suitable and build agreed goals around that activity.
