Mobility and balance physiotherapy at home in Barking
Practical support with walking, balance and everyday movement in familiar surroundings.
Why choose care at home?
Movement difficulties are often most noticeable in everyday situations: getting out of a chair, changing direction or reaching the front door. A home assessment lets us look at these tasks where they happen and work towards goals relevant to your routine.
What we can work on together
- Assess walking, balance and movements you find difficult.
- Practise strength and functional movement at a suitable level.
- Review how you use your usual walking aid and available support.
Your first appointment
We discuss changes in mobility, relevant health history and any falls, then assess appropriate movements with your usual support available. Exercises and advice are adapted to your abilities. We explain if equipment review or another assessment would be more appropriate.
More about mobility and balancePlanning your visit in Barking
For homes in Barking, include the building name, floor and residential entrance where relevant. Tell us about concierge access or a shared entry system, and whether a lift is available.
We come to your home, so there is no need to travel to a clinic. Your exact address is checked during booking before suitable times are shown.
Before we arrive
- Keep your normal footwear and walking aid available.
- Tell us about recent changes, falls or care advice you have received.
- If someone usually helps you move, discuss whether they should join the appointment.
Self-pay, insurance or a cash plan?
Self-pay visits are £160 for 60 minutes. You receive a paid itemised invoice. If you use a health cash plan, check its home-visit cover, claim limits and requirements before booking.
Private medical insurance needs authorisation for home treatment with your clinician. Clinic recognition alone does not establish home-visit cover; your policy may include an excess or shortfall.

Do I need to be able to walk independently?
No. Tell us about the assistance and equipment you use so the appointment can be planned appropriately. We assess suitable movements with your normal support available.
Can we work towards walking outside?
Yes, where appropriate. We can discuss the movements, strength and confidence involved, then agree a progression suited to your current abilities and surroundings.
